Are you interested in doing the Great Ethiopia Run on Sunday November 22nd in Addis Ababa? The largest road race in Africa with over 25,000 participants annually, could be just the challenge you are waiting for! The 10km route snakes through the nation’s capital at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea-level. Indeed it promises to be an enjoyable event for both runners and walkers alike.
Last year, Paul Durcan, goal keeper with the Donegal senior football team and 2012, 2014 All-Star, took part in the Great Ethiopian Run with VLM.
“I was delighted to be able to help in some small way with the magnificent work that VLM are undertaking in Ethiopia” said Paul said.
This year VLM are planning to depart Dublin on Thursday 19th November with a direct flight to Addis Ababa. On arrival participants will be welcomed by the Vincentian Fathers and will visit the Ambo Lazarist Deaf Centre, a project supported by VLM and the Deaf Community in Ireland.
On Sunday 22nd the group will complete the 10km run and will attend a reception hosted by the Irish Embassy in Addis Ababa. The group will return early on Monday 23rd.
The cost per person is €1950* and this includes:
- A donation to the work of the Vincentian Fathers in Ethiopia
