Street Advocacy Project, Kumasi
The first VLM volunteers to Ghana travelled in 2018. In 2020, 8 girls and 2 teachers from St Mary’s Holy Faith School in Glasnevin were supposed to travel on their first schools immersion project. Due to covid they were unable to travel but the girls donated €8000 they had raised to the running costs of the street advocacy project run by the Daughters of Charity in Kumasi. This project provides services to children living on the streets: counselling, family re-integration, financial support, education and skills training. Currently they support over 300 children in education and skills training.
