“Dear VLM Volunteers,
This brings my New Year greetings to you, our VLM volunteers. As always, each one of you have been so generous in giving your precious time and sharing your skills in our projects, as well as continuing to support us in the back ground from Ireland. We have been blessed to have such a good people who contributed in many ways and helped us to improve the services we give, in our efforts to make difference in the lives of those who are poor people. I thank each one of you most sincerely on behalf of our sisters and the poor people whose lives you have touched and brought about a tremendous improvement in building their dignity as well as helping them to become self-sufficient.
Our Province received an exceptional gift this year in the arranging and organising all our documents and archives, dating back as far as the foundation of the Daughters of Charity in Ethiopia in 1927. Margaret Rooney, with help of Sarah Murphy, worked efficiently and arranged and registered all our files and books. We are very grateful to Margaret and Sarah for their work in this area.
It will be hard for me to mention each volunteer and your contribution on this page, but please know that we are grateful to each one of you for your contribution and treasure the memories of your time here.
During the year, we also got some good news from Ireland about previous volunteers. We heard about new member in your families, of marriages, new jobs etc. We rejoice with each one of you every time we hear good things and blessing that you receive. We wish every blessing from the Lord for all of you in your lives what ever the joy or difficulty alike. Our community continuously pray for our benefactors and volunteers and wish all the best to you all. May God reward you a hundred fold from His abundance.
We admire our Volunteers for integrating into our life and being happy with the little resources we have out here. The daughters of Charity are very grateful to VLM members -be it board members, coordinators, family members, Charities, and those who come out to Ethiopia as volunteers and share the hardships of our people. We have no words to thank all of you for your generous support and wonderful contributions. We hope that this working relationship will continue in the future and be strengthened in the coming years.
As Christmas and New Year is very near, I send to you all our warmest greetings and thanks from the Sisters and from all those who have benefited from your lovely service and friendship.
A very happy and joy-filled Christmas and every blessing in the New Year.
With my best wishes, deepest gratitude and prayers,
Sr. Tiblets Baraki D.C.
