Dear Vincentian Lay Missionaries,
I would like to send special Christmas Greetings and best wishes for a happy New Year to all the Volunteers who have visited Ethiopia under the Vincentian Lay Missionary programmes.
For many years now the Daughters of Charity have had the privilege of working hand in hand with volunteers from Ireland. They helped us with their expertise and donations in our missions such as education, Women in Development, Montessori Teacher Training and project writing and reporting and other initiatives. They share willingly their gifts and talents as well as their professional experiences with our sisters and staff. This helps us all to update ourselves and be efficient in our services to those who are poor.
This year volunteers joined us all the year round and they served in different fields and different missions – some of them coming and going forth to reach out all the areas that they are needed. Each one of them have been very committed and made big differences in serving and finding funds.
The community benefited a great deal from their presence and we all enjoyed their friendly approach to those whom we serve. We admire each one of them for fitting into our life and being happy with the little resources we have here. The daughters of Charity is very grateful to VLM – those who come out and those who help in any way from behind. We have no words to thank them for their wonderful contributions. We hope that this working relationship will continue in the future and grow in the coming years.
As Christmas and New Year is very near I send to all the volunteers our warmest greetings and thanks not only from the Sisters but from all those who have benefited from their lovely service and friendship.
A very happy and joy filled Christmas and every blessing in the New Year.
With my best wishes, deepest gratitude and prayers,
Sr. Tiblets Baraki D.C.
