A sewing machine gives a person an opportunity to build a sustainable livelihood for themselves and their families. In Kumasi (Ghana)Vocational Training Centre run by the Daughters of Charity this will go to a girl who has been helped move off the streets by the project. In Ambo (Ethiopia) a sewing machine will be gifted to a deaf person on their graduation from the Sewing Vocational Training Centre.
