Teachers

VLM acknowledges that education is essential to addressing issues of poverty and inequality in our world. Since 2002, educational projects have been at the heart of VLM. VLM’s partner schools run by the Vincentian Fathers and Daughters of Charity include pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools, deaf educational facilities, and additional needs educational facilities. Our schools promote a high standard of education available to all.

Volunteering as a teacher is also a great way to further develop your skills, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and share your knowledge from your own classroom.

Volunteer role

You will be embedded within the teaching staff at your placement location, either as an individual or with a small group of VLM volunteers. Activities include day-to-day teaching, one-to-one tutoring, and staff workshops to encourage a sustainable impact. Outside of the classroom, you will have the opportunity to engage with extra-curricular activities such as sports, arts & crafts, and music.

Please Note: Stand-alone teaching placements are only available to qualified and student teachers. Others may partake in an assistant or specified capacity within the general volunteer role.
