The EDP has supported the ALDS to secure land and buildings which are located directly opposite the Deaf school. Our intention is to convert the buildings into a boarding facility for the children from the rural districts. We have engaged the services of an architect who has drawn up some very basic plans for such a conversion.
We need a topography report to assist us plan and develop the land that is surrounding the facility, i.e. play areas, football pitches, and so on.
The boarding facility will be a phased project as we will need to develop the school and the boarding facility together. An increase in students will require us to build some more classrooms and employ more teachers etc
We are in the process of trying to find matched funding from an international organisation. This is being sought through the services of the Vincentian Solidarity Office.
The boarding house is required to allow children like these to attend our school.
